Amplifiers installed right after the photomultiplier (PMT) base will increase the signal amplitude in order to reduce the effects of noise contamination
If the PMT tube anode DC current exceeds some threshold over too long period of time the PMT suffers premature aging. We measure this current in order to monitor the phototubes exposure to bright light.
Pixels are installed on the Focal Plane in sectors. The scheme determines pixel placement in each of the sectors and the location of each sector on the focal plane.
